In the News: The Original Home of DISCOVERY Children’s Museum

Did you know that the building with the concrete tower across from Cashman Field was once the home of the Lied Discovery Children’s Museum and Las Vegas Library? Designed by the acclaimed architect Antoine Predock, this $14 million, 104,000-square-foot building opened its doors in 1990, housing a world of engaging exhibits for children to explore science, art, and more.

In 2013, DISCOVERY Children’s Museum relocated to a larger venue next to The Smith Center. Meanwhile, the original building remains largely vacant—awaiting a new chapter in its history.
