Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What age groups are the summer camps designed for?

Our summer camps cater to children of various age groups, starting from preschoolers to tweens. Each camp is specifically designed to match the developmental and interest levels of its intended age group. Please refer to each camp’s description for age requirements.

What is the camper-to-instructor ratio?

To ensure a high-quality, personalized learning experience, we maintain a low camper-to-instructor ratio with a maximum of 15 children per classroom, supervised by a minimum of two adult camp instructors.

Are meals provided during the camp?

Meals are not typically provided during the camp. We ask parents to pack a nut-free lunch and snacks for their child each day. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions or allergies upon registration.

What safety measures are in place at the camps?

Safety is our top priority. We conduct mandatory background checks on all camp instructors, adhere to strict arrival and dismissal procedures, maintain a low camper-to-instructor ratio, and ensure that lead instructors are certified in first aid. The museum also enforces a sick person policy and has a building evacuation plan in place for emergencies.

Can parents visit during camp hours?

To maintain a focused and safe environment, parents are not typically allowed to visit during camp hours. However, there are specific times set for drop-off and pick-up, and special arrangements can be made for parents to engage with the camp instructors during these times.

What should my child bring to camp?

Children should come prepared with a nut-free lunch, snacks, a water bottle, and any specific materials listed in the camp description or the pre-camp communication. We also recommend dressing in comfortable clothing suitable for indoor and outdoor activities.

What if my child has special needs?

We strive to accommodate children with special needs to the best of our ability. Please contact us in advance to discuss any specific requirements or concerns so that we can prepare to provide your child with a supportive and enjoyable camp experience.

How can I stay informed about my child's camp experience?

We believe in open communication with parents. You will receive a pre-camp email with all necessary information, including registration forms, camp rules, and policies. Camp instructors are also available during daily drop-off and pick-up times for updates and questions. Additionally, campers will occasionally bring home “camp creations” to demonstrate their progress and learning.
