Carlos Santana Leads Drum Circle With Kids At Discovery
Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana and his wife, renowned drummer, Cindy Blackman Santana, stopped by DISCOVERY Children’s Museum Tuesday to host a little drum circle for CCSD students. The jam session was part of a “Cultural Collaboration” with the Las Vegas Philharmonic — and a day those who attended are likely to remember for the rest of their lives.
Las Vegas Philharmonic Music Director, Donato Cabrera, hosted the interactive music experience dubbed “OrKidsStra” in our Fantasy Festival gallery. The Santana’s helped about 200 grade school students feel the rhythm as they tried heir hands at dozens of different types of drums and other percussion instruments.
Santana’s new album, “Africa Speaks,” was released in June of this year. He recently renewed his residency at the House of Blues Las Vegas.
